Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) party leader former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticized Kenya Kwanza government for having no money to allocate schools, but have money for hosting luncheons for government principals.
According to Gachagua, the government should instead listen to Kenyans, as the situations in the country is devastating, from the costly education sector to the failing healthcare system and fake government promises.
“There is no money for capitation in our schools, and our principals are being treated to a game of musical chairs by the government. Listening to them, the situation is dire; they are torn between letting auctioneers into schools over unpaid bills or sending students and pupils homes for levies. Our hospitals are a shell of what has been left after failed healthcare systems and fake promises from the government,” Gachagua wrote.
He also called out the government for tightening civil servants pay slips to extremes and delayed salaries. Gachagua hitting the Ruto led administration for using the money from Kenyans taxes to pay contractors and supplies to buy supporters and campaigning for 2027 general elections.
” The little money available from payment of taxes has been diverted through the security agencies to bribe women and Boda boda operators and finance the 2027 campaign and pay goons to disrupt meetings of those advocating for regime change,” he further said.
Gachagua also hit out to artists being used by the regime to popularize them, despite rejection from Kenyans, who will have the money and not buy the unfulfilling promises popularized by the government. His remarks indirectly hitting to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who hosted artists from Mt. Kenya region at his Karen home.
“Our musicians and creative artists, too, are being bribed to go out and sell that which cannot be bought. Sad at it is, Kenyans are encouraged to ‘eat’ the money but not surrender their souls,” Gachagua further said.
He urged Kenyans to remain watchful of the miss cards by the regime, and remind leaders carrying huge cash to avoid repeats of 1992, as Kenyans are still paying the price over 3 decades later.
His remarks after Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna asked President William Ruto to stop paying attention to the fake AI popularity and fighting him using paid online bloggers but deliver services to Kenyans. Sifuna said he is not to blame for failures of Kenya Kwanza government, as Ruto brought the troubles to himself.
