Democratic Citizen’s Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is currently on three-day tour of Meru County, along with his entourage including Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K Eugene Wamalwa and other leaders in opposition.
Speaking in an interview with Meru based media houses, Gachagua urged the former ousted governor of Meru Kawira Mwangaza not to walk alone, but join the opposition. Gachagua urged the ousted first time governor to join his team to work with, despite hurting.
“I’m telling my sister, don’t walk alone you will go nowhere, buffalos don’t move in herds because they love one another, they move together because of the danger of walking alone. My sister Kawira I know youre hurting and in tears, don’t walk alone you have brothers and sisters you can work with,” he urged.
Acknowledging of their broken communication after his ouster from the office of the deputy president, Gachagua said that he choose not to cry after what befall him, but deal with the issue at hand. He further stated that he was there for Kawira in her troubles, but things went sour after his ouster.
“Tangu Kawira apate matatizo hapo awali tulikuwa tuanongea na yeye kwa ofisi sana, at least nampatia a shoulder to lean on. Tangu nipate matatizo mimi ndio nalia zaid kuliko yeye, sasa unless ni mtafute sote tulie pamoja, mimi niliamua kuliko nilie, wacha nijitokeze ning’ang’ane na huyu jamaa anaumiza sisi,” Gachagua remarked.
He further came to the aid of Mama Kawira, Gachagua threw a jab to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for fighting her in her meetings, by sending goons and lobbying teargas to her. He called out Kindiki for fighting a woman, blatantly asking him to fight with men.
“Niliona juzi saprano anatumana kwa mikutano ya Kawira anapigwa kama swara, huyo ni mama! Hata wewe mtu ya saprano kama unataka kupigana na mtu tafuta mwanaume size yako, kuliko kupigana na mama, this is a lady mnapiga yeye kama swara kwa mikutano yake, mantuma polisi na manrusha teargas,” he stated.
Earlier, Kawira had questioned Gachagua and his team, on what is their stand on those who overturned the will of the people by impeaching her, are the ones calling her to join the, remarks directly meant for former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.
