Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has strongly dismissed circulating claims alleging the existence of backroom deals to sell, dissolve, or merge the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party with other political outfits.
Addressing the rumours, Ruth reaffirmed that Kisumu Woman Rep remains firmly united and resilient, warning party members and supporters against being misled by narratives aimed at creating division and uncertainty within the party. She emphasized that ODM cannot and will not be taken over by any individual or external force, noting that the party’s strength lies in its collective leadership and loyal grassroots support.
The Kisumu Woman Rep stressed the importance of unity at a time when political realignments are increasingly shaping national discourse. According to her, ODM’s leadership is fully aware of the misinformation circulating in the public domain and remains focused on protecting the party’s identity, ideology, and long-term vision.
Ruth further reassured supporters that all political negotiations and engagements undertaken by the party so far have been conducted openly and with consensus from the party leadership. She made it clear that there have been no secretive meetings or agreements carried out behind the backs of party members, adding that ODM continues to engage other political players from a position of strength and unity.
She called on ODM members to remain vigilant and avoid engaging in divisive politics, urging them instead to focus on strengthening the party at both the grassroots and national levels. Ruth concluded by reaffirming ODM’s commitment to democratic principles, transparency, and inclusivity, assuring supporters that the party remains united and prepared to navigate the evolving political landscape together.
