THE PRESIDENT of the republic of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan is saddened by the death of the Founding President of the Nation of Namibia, Dr. Sam Nujoma which happened last night while he was hospitalized.
Through her social media pages, President Samia has written: “Freedom fighter, Pan-Africanist and dear friend of Tanzania where he once lived during the struggle for the independence of Namibia, Dr. Nujoma lived a life of service that shaped not only the destiny of his country, but also inspired generations to stand for the values of freedom, equality and justice.
“On behalf of the Government and citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania, I would like to convey our condolences to Mr. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, former President of the Republic of Namibia, the people of Namibia, the Wife of the Founding President of the Republic of Namibia, Honorable Kovambo Nujoma, the children of Dr. Nujoma, all his family, friends and comrades of SWA”. President Samia wrote.
