Marsabit Senator Mohammed Chute donated a dozen of books collection to Gada Academy’s Pri-Primary and Primary School in the Borana region of Ethiopia on June, Monday 9.

According to Chute, the donation aims to strengthen the academic resources of the school and bridge the gap in access to learning materials for young learners in one of Ethiopia’s pastoralist regions. The contribution is expected to directly impact classroom instruction and inspire greater enthusiasm for learning among students.
Folowing the vast nature of pastoralist area, access to education has been a challenge, with students missing out on accessing and interacting with learning materials that other students have access too. Further bridging the gap, Concern Worldwide, donated learning materials to over 25 schools in the region, to help students interact with learning materials as demanded by the new education system Competence Based Education (CBE).
Commending the efforts of Chute, Halakhe Wako, expressed the joy of the community from the generous gesture, stating that the books donation will impact and foster a thirst for education among the students.
“Your commitment to education and support for our school will have a lasting impact on our students’ learning experience.
These books will not only enrich our curriculum but also inspire our students to pursue their education with greater enthusiasm” Said Mr Halake.
Senator Chute has been an advocate for supporting education & community empowerment and continues to emphasize the role of knowledge in driving long-term development. His initiative to provide books to underserved schools underscores the importance of investing in the minds of the next generation.
Leaders in the region have been calling for investment in education, as it is not only a course for development, that will end the regions menace of frequent community clashes and cattle rustling, derailing development in the region.
