The government has denied allegations of enmity between it and Chief Justice Martha Koome or any officer of the Judiciary Department.
This is following the controversy that arose after the Chief Justice was deprived of some of his bodyguards.
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has denied claims that the Chief Justice was deprived of his bodyguards and instead three of his bodyguards were taken after they were promoted to receive additional training.
Speaking in the Diani area of Kwale county, the CS noted that Koome did not have to disclose the matter publicly as it has raised international concerns about the safety of the Chief Justice.
Murkomen also revealed that Chief Justice Koome still has 29 bodyguards left, while the constitution only allows her to have 6 bodyguards.
The CS has however assured Chief Justice Koome and all other officers who deserve security that they will be protected according to the constitution and that the government will not violate those regulations.
