Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for profiling and intimidating businessmen in Mt Kenya to pay “tax” to him in order to run their business.
Speaking during the official launch of the Taifa Care Caravan at Nyayo Gardens in Nakuru City yesterday, Kihika said that the former DP is profiling influential and notable figures in the region, including a businessman she identified as Mburu, because he taking advantage if them by extorting money from them.
“Wewe Gachagua nakuonea 18, your are extortionist, you thought you will intimidate Samwell Mburu and all Kikuyus doing businesses to bring you taxor to come and pay fees to you, or you will intimidate them, that is why you are profiling them cause you are extorting them,” Kihika said.
She further urged the Democratic citizen’s party (DCP) leader to carry out his agenda with decorum and stop popularizing lies and propaganda stop interfering with other people, but instead focus on popularizing his agenda to the people.
“Stop lies propaganda, if you are putting across your agendas put them in peace, and leave us out of your business or we will deal with you,” she said.
During protests, Gachagua accused President William Ruto’s administration for profiling people of Mt. Kenya and using the Terrorism Act to intimidate his people, as well as leaders opposing his administration policies.
The first time Nakuru governor asked Gachagua to keep off her personal life, including her husband, who was accused by Gachagua to commanding police officers in Nakuru according to Kihika. She faulted Gachagua for his remarks and ignoring his background in administration and laying baseless accusations.
“Sasa anauliza bwana yangu nini? He is a Kenyan who has not been elected in any position. He is lying that he directs police yet he is a civilian. You were in administration and you fully understand that no civilian can direct a police officer. He is an inciter and propagandist with no basis, but we are aware of his tactics,” Kihika remarked.
