Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on the spot for splashing money weekly on empowerment drives, as students in six public schools in Tharaka Nithi study in dilapidated structures.
According to a report by Citizen TV on Monday night, in schools Kathanga, Kiairanthi, Gatiriku, Gakuyu, and Kathandeni are facing a severe lack of amenities, with pupils also exposed to risks such as snake attacks and the daily struggle for water.
In the coverage, the students were captured learning over crumbling buildings with leaking roofs, cracked walls, and inadequate sanitation.
Taking on social media to express their anger towards Kindiki, who hails from the area, here are some of the reactions from Kenyans;
“Kithure Kindiki‘s Tharaka Nithi state of schools. Why not empowerment programs to schools.”

“Eeeeih let laugh & cry at the same time This is Kathanga primary school in Tharaka Nithi Where Kithure Kindiki comes from The same Kindiki moving around with fake empowerment program & monies The one supporting Ruto KSh 1.2 bn church Guys can’t even fix his local.”

“Kathanga Primary School in Tharaka Nithi County. The state of disrepair is visible everywhere. Classrooms are barely standing, with pupils distracted by gaping holes in the walls and dust-filled air. DP Kithure Kindiki is busy with empowerment programs.”
