Following his recent troubles and boldness in criticizing President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government, Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has become a darling to residents in the Mulembe nation.
Recently to declare Natembeya as the community’s leader, is Elijah Makokha, a senatorial race hopeful in 2027, who strongly condemned the intimidation towards the governor, with Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), raiding his home on Monday last week.
“I want to condemn strongly the act that happened it is unacceptable in our constitution, it is absurd, it is away of intimidating our governor George Natembeya! e fully understand the plans of KSh 6.2M, that was planned to plant in your house to try and paint you that you are a corrupt leader, ” Makokha remarked.
According Makokha, Natembeya is the Luhya Kingpin, which is intimidating a section of leaders, not happy about his move to rescue the community from poverty and being puppets to leaders. He said the arrest of Natembeya is politically instigated, as his track record purely shows a visionary leader.
“Youre the Kingpin of Luhya nation, we know people are not happy about. But even from abroad we are ready to stand with you. It is time for the Luhya people to receive their rightfully share and respected. We will not be silent when our brother is being troubled,” he further stated.
Supporting Natembeya constant remarks, Makokha reiterated that poverty levels is what is ailing the community, which the fierce governor has always said reduces the political bargaining power of the community. He has been pushing for eradication of poverty to have political muscles in the upcoming general elections.
“As we watch, Natembeya is the spokesperson of our community. As a community lets support our own, as poverty is the biggest vice that has killed the Mulembe community, let him speak on our behalf as he is our Joshua,” Makokha further reiterated.
