Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has commended his boss President William Ruto for fulfilling almost all the promises he made to Kenyans during campaigns in 2022, as witnessed in the past two years of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking Kajiado during the opening of the Third National Executive Retreat at KCB Leadership Centre, Kindiki stated that his boss had successfully led the country into recovery following the 2019 Corona Virus Pandemic, that crippled economies across the world.
Citing the Russian-Ukraine war and the newly introduced high rates by the United States further affecting the economic, but positive progress made by the president to stabilize the economy is commendable.
“This administration was elected at a critical point in terms of the nation’s economic situation. We were elected on a very popular agenda, which was to create an inclusive economy; an economy that brings everyone onboard where the prosperity of the country is shared across economic classes. The comments we hear every day on how far we are in the agenda are expected because we won under this radical, daring, and bold commitment,” Kindiki remarked.
Kindiki further calling on Kenyans to give credit where its due, citing the progress made by the administration in stabilizing the shilling against the dollar, reducing fuel prices and low inflation rates witnessed, since taking power in 2022.
“Even as we contextualise where we are, let us remember where we came from and the heavy lifting that has gone in between,” he further remarked.
Earlier President Ruto had stated that he is committed in transforming the country, and all promises made to Kenyans during campaigns must be fulfilled. Ruto further hitting to his critics said that until he has transformed Kenya in the five years, he is currently not focused on the next elections.
“Our focus is not the next election; our focus is in the transformation of Kenya. We must do what we must do, as long as it is the exercise of transforming our nation, the next election notwithstanding. The next election is not our focus. If there is a focus, let it be the transformation and foundation we are laying so that the next generation can be different,” Ruto stated earlier.
